Good Morning Chicago.
I’m a Chicago-area guy. That’s where I grew up. Not in the city itself, otherwise I would say I was from Chicago. I did spend a lot of time as a teenager running around the city as an unsupervised youth, most of the time without the knowledge of my parents. Regardless, it was a fun and mostly safe city back then.
Not anymore.
The newest, and possibly worst mayor in Chicago history just decided to give back $10.3M to the Board of Education. How can that be a bad thing, you ask??? Because that $10.3M was allocated to pay the Chicago Police Department for putting police officers in 39 schools across the city. You know, to protect them from the rampant violent crime that plagues the city.
Yes, this dumbass just made schools in the MOST DANGEROUS city in the country LESS SAFE by removing police officers.
I did say he is possibly the worst mayor in Chicago history. Keep in mind he just replaced Lori Lighfoot who was easily the worst, and he is looking to take the crown just like he did her office. 70% of voters are UNHAPPY with him as the mayor.
The way he is handling the migrant crisis in Chicago is reprehensible. Remember…they are a sanctuary city, so this is a self-inflicted wound. The migrants being bussed up from Texas are everywhere. One DIED in a police station bathroom from a heroin overdose. There are hundreds being housed at the airport. The city is taking funds away from their citizens to pay for migrant services.
And let me tell you….Chicagoans are pissed and they have had enough of this shit. The Democratic National Convention for the Presidential election is being held IN CHICAGO and protests are already being planned. Yes, in Chicago where a Republican hasn’t been mayor since 1931, they are going to protest to show their displeasure with the Democratic Party and the fact that they feel abandoned by those they put into office.
But wait, hold the phone. Don’t get off the couch in the “frunch room” or turn off WGN or cancel your subscription to the Chicago Tribune….the Mayor and the City administrators have done something important. By the way, if you don’t know what a “frunch room” is, it is a very Chicago thing that most of us cannot describe accurately, so don’t feel bad.
Mayor Brandon Johnson cast the tie-breaking vote to pass a resolution calling for a cease-fire….in Gaza.
Yeah. With the city falling to ruin, violent crime skyrocketing, and migrants running all over the place, the assholes at Chicago City Hall passed a 100% meaningless resolution about something going on IN ANOTHER COUNTRY that they have ZERO INFLUENCE on. Seriously, who in Israel or the settlements gives a shit what the Chicago City Council has to say? No one. Not one damn person. I honestly can’t tell if it is arrogance or stupidity that got them to this point.
Hey, Mayor Johnson, I’ve got a bright idea…worry about your own cesspool and take care of your own citizens! Spend some time making progress that has an actual impact on YOUR city instead of somewhere on the other side of the globe.
But, in reality, he is just following the example of President Biden who says he wants to hold Israeli settlers accountable for retaliating against Hamas terrorists. Yes, our President wants to hold Israeli citizens accountable for their actions, inside their own country. That would be like Emmanuel Macron saying he wants to hold Americans accountable for how they respond to migrants committing crimes in the US. Yeah, how about a nice warm cup of shut the fuck up. We wouldn’t take that from Macron, and the Israelis won’t take it from President Biden.
It’s all virtue signaling that NO ONE gives a shit about…except those who are doing it, like Mayor Johnson and the idiots on the Chicago City Council that voted to pass this crap. It means absolutely zero. And if you’re one of those cheering it on….you’re contributing to the stupidity and the wasted time in places like Chicago where things THAT MATTER actually need to get done.
I’m tired of sugar-coating this stuff. Politicians like this need to go. And go NOW. The world is moving too quickly for this level of stupid.
